Why am I seeing a message saying “Connection to ROSALIND lost”?

If restarting your browser does not fix a “Connection to ROSALIND lost” message, it may be that ROSALIND is a restricted site for the internet connection that you are on. We have noticed that some IT departments have restrictive policies that block access to the ROSALIND backend system. It's likely that if your IT department can allow 8080 traffic to access this single IP address (our global load balancer): 35.196.214.242 for outgoing traffic, then it will allow ROSALIND to work while you are in the office/lab.
